Instructions

1. Heat oven to 350°F.
2. Coat 10-inch fluted tube pan generously with no-stick cooking spray. Dust with flour.
3. Beat butter and sugar in large bowl with mixer on high speed until light and fluffy.
4. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
5. Blend in jam.
6. Stir flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, allspice, nutmeg and salt in medium bowl until well blended.
7. Add to batter alternately with buttermilk, mixing just until blended after each addition.
8. Stir in nuts.
9. Spread evenly in prepared pan.
10. Bake 50 to 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean.
11. Cool in pan 15 minutes. Remove from pan to wire rack to cool completely.
12. Icing:
13. Melt butter in small saucepan.
14. Whisk in brown sugar and buttermilk.
15. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Boil 1 minute, stirring constantly.
16. Remove from heat. Whisk in powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.
17. Spoon over cooled cake.
