Ingredients

  • 3 very ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 cup Dutch-process cocoa powder
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chunks

Instructions

  1. Heat your oven to 350°F
  2. Butter a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  3. Sift dry ingredients into a bowl.
  4. In a large bowl, mash the bananas.
  5. Whisk in the melted butter,egg, brown sugar, and vanilla.
  6. Combine the wet ad dry ingredients.
  7. Stir in chocolate.
  8. Pour into pan and back for 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out batter-free.
  9. Serve warm with ice cream!
